Our Vision

To provide a safe, supportive, collaborative, empowering and culturally supportive environment that addresses the unique challenges and aspiring of female and gender diverse Aboriginal entrepreneurs.

To enhance, develop and accelerate growth for current and aspiring female and gender diverse  Aboriginal entrepreneurs in a sustainable way through programs and resources.

To promote Community leadership through volunteerism as a reflection of respect and reciprocity and will be paramount to the foundation of the Aboriginal Women’s Business Entrepreneurship Network.

The Aboriginal Women’s Business Entrepreneurship Network (AWBEN) was initiated in December 2012. NWAC was pleased to make the announcement at the Aboriginal Entrepreneurs Conference and Trade Show 2012, that Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC) would be funding NWAC to develop the network.  From the knowledge of economic development NWAC has acquired and with the Advisory Committee’s participation, an AWBEN vision statement was created.

AWBEN offers helpful resources that you can download free.

What is New at AWBEN?

The AWBEN conference has developed into a multi day conference that offers Aboriginal women and gender diverse the opportunity to attend training sessions and talks facilitated by experts from across Canada. These sessions aim to give Aboriginal entrepreneurs the information and tools to develop a successful business in Canada’s current economic climate. Each year AWBEN has grown in terms of participants and services offered. Today AWBEN is offering Aboriginal women and gender diverse the chance to attend a two day conference where they will learn important social networking, business planning and business pitching skills. The conference also give Aboriginal entrepreneurs a chance to become vendors and promote their goods and services at the event.
